Barber Prosthetics Clinic is Open

We are cautiously entering Phase 3 of BC’s Restart Program in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Please reach out to us should you need anything. We are practicing strict safety and cleaning procedures in the clinic to maintain the health of our community, including a deep cleaning of the clinic between and throughout appointments, frequent hand-washing and wearing face masks.

As well, there are several key protocols in place for patients that must be adhered to, these include:

  • All visitors to the clinic must wear a face mask and wash/sanitize their hands upon entry into the clinic.

  • Patients are to attend appointments alone unless a guardian/care giver is necessary. At this time, we are unable to have children join patient appointments.

  • Patients must enter the clinic through the front door (on Marine Drive). Parking is still available in the back or on the street (*street parking is available from 9 am until 3 pm).

  • We are unable to supply patients with beverages, reading material or activities so please bring your own “entertainment” and beverages/snacks if needed.

  • Our waiting room is closed for now, so patients will be escorted into a patient room and stay there for their appointment. The bathroom is of course available, and patients are encouraged to wash their hands often, however won’t be able to wander freely throughout the clinic or patient area.

  • Please be on time for appointments, arriving early or late results in appointment overlap and risks our social distancing practices.

Additionally, COVID-19 has impacted us, our funding partners and suppliers, and unfortunately this means we expect delays on funding approvals, appointments, repairs, and supplies. We’re sorry for any issues that arise from this. We will continue to do our best to provide the high quality patient care you have come to expect from us. We appreciate your patience as we work together to stay healthy and safe and we look forward to seeing you in the clinic soon.

We are certainly still available to discuss any needs, concerns, or questions with patients and other health care providers during these times. If you would like to speak with your clinician, please feel free to contact them via e-mail:

Or for general inquiries: info@barberprosthetics.com

You can also still reach us through our regular phone system at 604-321-1115, where your call will be transferred accordingly.

Upon contacting your clinician, we will develop an appropriate plan of action. We will continue to process paperwork/applications and provide supplies such as new liners, sleeves, socks etc. as needed via delivery. We are fully integrated with “Zoom” technology which allows us to set up a video treatment, if appropriate.

HOW TO ZOOM

We understand that emergency situations may develop where a patient will need to be seen, in person, by a clinician. Following guidelines from the Ministry of Health, Barber Prosthetics Clinic has developed a protocol (see “Emergency In-Person Appointment Protocol” below) for dealing with such situations keeping paramount the health and safety of the patient, clinician, and general public. Such cases will be assessed on an individual basis.

More information can be found through the links below. If you have any other questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Best in health,
