Remembering Lorne Winder

It is with profound sadness that the Barber Prosthetics Clinic Family must announce the passing of our dear friend and esteemed colleague Lorne Winder, CP ( c ), FCBC. Lorne passed away surrounded by his family, on the morning of December 28th, 2020 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

We will miss his infectious laugh, his clever wit, his sincere candour, his humble intelligence, his wonderful humour and his care and love and attention to everything and everyone in all corners of his life. His kindness and compassion were effortless and given freely. Lorne shared his knowledge freely and generously taught many students the intricacies of prosthetics at BCIT and in the clinic here at Barber Prosthetics for many years. His great talents as a Prosthetist, as a “farmer”, as a leader and as a builder of many things were gifts.

Goodbye dear friend. Until we meet again.

You can read his announcement here. Please visit the site for the family’s tribute and a note of contributions in his name, in lieu of flowers. Thank you.
